Common questions
Where does this information come from?
From Connecticut's Office of Early Childhood and Delaware's Office of Child Care Licensing open data portals. Each profile links to the official state lookup.
Does a cited item mean the child care is unsafe?
Not by itself. A citation records that a regulation was cited on a date; some are paperwork items and some are not. Read the state's full report. See how to read a Connecticut record.
Why does a Delaware program show no visits?
Delaware's open data lists only compliance reviews with a cited regulation. A program with no listed citations may have been visited without findings; the file does not tell us.
Why don't family child care homes show an address or phone?
They are run from private homes, so we leave out the street address and phone. Use the state's lookup or 211 (Connecticut) to get contact details.
How do I report a concern?
Contact the licensing agency: Connecticut OEC licensing (860-500-4450 or 800-282-6063) or the Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.
My program is missing or wrong. What do I do?
We list active licensed programs only. Use the corrections page; changes to the license record itself must go through the state.
